Our Story

Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls;
the most massive characters are seared with scars. – Khalil Gibran

Mend Well was born from lived experience—of injury, pain, resilience, and deep transformation. It’s a space created for those navigating their own complex paths of recovery, whether physical, mental, emotional, energetic, or all of the above.

Here, every scar is honored, every pattern gently explored, and every being—human or animal—is supported with care, compassion, and a deep understanding of what it means to mend from the inside out.

This is more than work. It’s a calling, a lived commitment to walking beside you and your companions through challenge and change. Thank you for being part of this journey.

The Mend Well Approach: A Path to Wholeness

At The Holistic Rehab, we embrace a comprehensive, compassionate methodology designed to support individuals and their companion animals through life's physical and emotional challenges.

Our approach stems from a deep understanding of the intricate connections between body, mind, brain, emotions, spirit, and the responses to our environments. This methodology offers a sanctuary for those navigating injuries, trauma, or chronic conditions.

We understand the journey you’re on because we’ve walked it ourselves. Our ability to support you comes from real experience and proven methods that have helped us overcome similar challenges. This shared path fuels our dedication to offering compassionate, effective care that truly works.

Seven Aspects of Restoration: A Full Spectrum of Care

Our methodology integrates a wide range of techniques to address various aspects of well-being. We focus on emotional and physical trauma, behavioral challenges, pain relief, injury recovery, and stress responses. A key part of our care includes assessment of neurobiological pain pathways and sensory feedback patterns, especially for structural and functional injuries caused by accidents, surgery, or trauma.

In the Mend Well method, we work with each layer of a being—mind, body, brain, emotions, soul, spirit, and environment—to restore balance, clarity, and function. Each of these aspects holds its own wisdom, but together they form a web of influence that can either keep someone stuck in cycles of dis-ease or support sustainable, whole-person restoration. Our work supports the clearing of outdated or unwanted patterns at every level.

Environment – The Influencer: Our surroundings play a huge role in our health. From the air we  breathe to the relationships around us, our environment affects our nervous system, regulation, and capacity to mend. At Mend Well, we consider both physical and energetic environments, clearing toxic exposures (chemical, emotional, or energetic) and supporting clients in building surroundings that promote ease and regeneration.

Brain – The Processor: Our brain governs function, pattern recognition, and responses to stimuli. We support re-patterning by working through neurological pathways that have been shaped by trauma, pain, or habit. Using techniques like structural and functional integration, we help create new neural maps that support ease, balance, and mobility.

Mind – The Interpreter: The mind is where stories live. It gives meaning to our experiences, but those meanings aren't always accurate or helpful. Through our work, we gently help release mental constructs that no longer serve, allowing new perspectives to emerge that are more aligned with well-being.

Emotions – The Messengers: Emotions show us where energy is stuck or flowing freely. They're not problems to fix but signals to listen to. At Mend Well, we support emotional regulation and resolution by acknowledging emotions as vital feedback, and we integrate somatic, energetic, and natural support to help process and clear them.

Body – The Container: Our body stores our life story. Injuries, habits, and traumas shape how it moves and functions. Our method works directly with the body’s structure and fascia, releasing restrictions, re-educating movement, and restoring coherence between form and function.

Spirit – The Essence: The spirit connects you to a greater source of life. This is your inner light, your vitality. We honor this layer through gentle energetic practices that help realign the body with its original blueprint of health and harmony.

Soul – The Blueprint: The soul holds your unique path and potential. Sometimes pain or disconnection masks your soul's clarity. The Mend Well method supports a return to your inner truth, helping you or your animal companion realign with purpose, wisdom, and vitality.

We don’t work with symptoms in isolation. We look at the full picture—what the body is saying, what the environment is contributing, what emotions are present, and how the nervous system is responding. Every session is personalized and intuitive, grounded in decades of training and clinical experience. Our goal is to help restore movement, resilience, and clarity at every level so that mending becomes not just possible, but inevitable.

Our services extend to companion animals, recognizing the profound bond between humans and their animal counterparts in the healing journey.

The Heart Behind Mend Well: Connection and Care

Mend Well was born from my own lived experience—navigating numerous head injuries, illness, misdiagnoses, trauma, and the overwhelming sense of isolation that comes with trying to find answers in a system that too often overlooks the whole person.

As a single mother, with numerous injuries, recovering from cancer and complex traumas from my life, I became painfully aware of the gaps in the health and wellness systems—spaces where real care was missing, and people were left without tools, support, or understanding.

In those moments, I didn’t just want to heal—I wanted to create the kind of care I couldn’t find.

That led to the creation of Knock Knock- Progressing with Injuries, a virtual space for connection and compassion, built for others walking similar paths. What began as a digital sanctuary for the unseen and unheard slowly expanded—growing into a broader framework of integrative support for people and their companion animals.

With Gratitude- To My Mentors

This work is not mine alone. I am deeply grateful to the many individuals, traditions, and life experiences that have shaped my path and continue to guide the care I offer through Mend Well and The Holistic Rehab. From formal studies and lineage-based teachings to moments of insight shared by mentors, family, friends, animals, and members of The Well Living Collective Community—the wisdom I've received has left an enduring imprint on this work. To those who have walked before me, beside me, and the ones that are passed and walk within me—thank you.

To Don Bryant Hargis, my mentor and teacher in Applied Theology and Reiki. Thank you for your presence, faith, and for walking with me as I explored the spiritual dimensions of care.

To Rochelle Montgomery, friend and teacher, whose teachings in Naturopathy and Homeopathy opened the doorway to natural healing and planted early seeds of trust in the body's innate wisdom.

To Jonathan Baker, my mentor and dear friend—thank you for generously sharing your knowledge of the Bone Code, for never letting my questions feel too small, and for helping ground my work in the functional integrity that supports my daily practice, ever moving to to deeper layers from being taught to see beyond thought and into sensing.

To Willow Rand, thank you for sharing your wisdom in Iridology, Herbalism, and Life. Your insights and clarity continue to guide me in ways both seen and unseen.

To Dale Speedy and Kym Summers, founders of Contact CARE Flinchlock Release—your method became the foundational lens through which I understand structural trauma and movement-based resolution, thank you for the wisdom of stillness.

To Thomas Ambrose Bowen, founder of Bowen Therapy, your pioneering hands-on method inspired my understanding of the body’s self-corrective potential.

To Dr. Edward Bach, originator of the Bach Flower Remedies—your legacy in emotional healing through nature continues to echo in the way I support emotional recovery.

To Elisabeth Apel, my teacher of Shuichuan Qigong, thank you for introducing me to the power of breath, movement, and subtle energy work.

To Roger Green, for your guidance through Feng Shui training—your teachings enriched how I view environmental harmony as integral to healing.

And to the community, my family and life time friendshumans and animals alike—who have entrusted me with your care and caring for me too throughout: your trust has been among my greatest teachers. To those who have influenced my path but I can't remember—whether you are named here or not—thank you too!

Finally, to the voice within—my own intuition and the trust it took to follow it—thank you for leading me to the discoveries, insights, and pathways that gave rise to my heart work.
